Rosemary Walsh studied at University College Cork, graduating in 1990 with a BA Honours Degree (English and Music) and in 1991 with a BMus Honours Degree. Further studies, over two years, at the Cork School of Music led to a DipCSM Honours. Rosemary’s piano teachers have included Una Hunt, John Gibson, Jan Cap , Angel Climent and Ronald Lees. She is an experienced accompanist and repetiteur and has performed with the Orchestra of University College Cork and with the Irish Youth Choir. She is presently the accompanist with Shannon Musical Society and the Coláiste Muire School Choir.
Originally from Co. Kilkenny, Rosemary has taught at St. John’s College, Kilkenny, Villiers School, Limerick and at Maoin Cheoil an Chláir since 1994. Her past pupils have included several who have achieved professional qualifications in piano performance and teaching. She has a particular interest in aural skills and theory instruction. Rosemary believes in creating well rounded, independent musicians who’s love of music is passed on within their communities and to future generations.
