I’m originally from Australia where I studied at the Conservatorium of Music in Brisbane, Queensland. In Australia I also trained as a Suzuki teacher and spent 15 years teaching privately and in schools. In between teaching I was part of a regularly performing string quartet. Myself and another teacher developed, and have since published, a method of teaching theory to young students based around games and activities (which has since been used in Ireland as well).
I regularly play in orchestras (University of Limerick Orchestra and Choral Union orchestra as well as other temporary orchestras in Limerick, Galway and Clare) and have been part of the orchestras for many musical societies in Clare and Limerick. I play in the Nova String Quartet and occasionally the Dolmen Quartet. I have played on various CDs over the years and enjoy playing all sorts of music. I play the cello and piano as well as my primary instruments, the violin and viola.
